A little season called...'Packing more but making it weigh less'

I am starting to pack my things and getting very excited! As you can see by my picture the title of this post isn't really working! ;)

For all those who where praying for my visa, sadly I did not get the visa I wanted which would allow me to stay in the country for a full 6 months. I will have to leave after three. I can return soon after but just a shame I can't stay in one place. However as I keep saying, this is God's problem not mine! :) All will be sorted out.

I will be in London for a little while before going to Heathrow on the 29th. I shall then be in Jo'burg staying at a friends house until the 2nd April when I will be landing in Pemba!

I will be staying in contact with you all via this blog so if you don't get an email once a month and wondering what's happening...come on here and see if there are updates! :)

Lots of love and prayers!

Ruth

I'm a going home!

Today I purchased my flight tickets! I went into Trailfinder and found out they were have a sale through South Africa Airways which ends today! So after getting very excited and slightly nervous I booked them! I shall be leaving on the 29th March from London Heathrow and won't be returning for a year.

I will be starting to do the before prep work in these next few weeks so will be very busy but if any of you guys are around the Norfolk area I would love to meet up!

Please pray that everything goes smoothly and that I get monthly supporters. At this time I need about 20-25 people giving £10 pounds a month. I have also been writing to companies in the Norwich area to see if they would like to support a local person doing charity work. So far I have no reply so please pray for favour in this! I am going to be sending my application form for my visa soon. I am going to be asking for a rare 12 month multi entry visa. This would mean I wouldn't have to leave the country every 90 days and leave after 6 months instead! This would be incredable so again, please pray for favour with the Mozambican embassy.

Thank you again to all of you who are supporting me in this with your prayers and kind words. It means so much to me! If you have any questions please do email me!

I would love to hear updates from you all or any prayer request you might have.

Love and prayers!
Ruth

Learning in this time of rest.

Trust….Thats what I tell myself…Trust. I am starting to really learn what it means to depend fully on Him.  This is not only for the spiritual but for the physical as well. I know…weird way round. I don’t think I am anywhere near to finishing my lesson on what it is to trust the Lord with the spiritual needs and how to hear Him in all situations; however I realise now how I was lacking in the education on how the Lord provides for us physically as well. I was very aware of this for the poorest of poor but didn’t think I would be under God’s radar for this lesson. I almost thought I know about it as I had seen it in friend’s lives; but how I was so wrong. However now I am that place with no back up plan if the Lord doesn’t provide, I feel I am in first grade. I am seeing miracles each day and the Lord providing for each need. I am not anywhere close to reaching that place of having everything sorted for Africa yet but I know…when it comes to the time. God will sort it.

I am really excited to get back to Africa and start this project with the prostitutes in the area. My heart just breaks hearing stories about mothers selling themselves for just 30 cents. I feel God calling me out and asking me to fight for justice. Fight for the love of the Fathers heart.  Fight for the destiny that these LADIES really have. This isn’t going to be a war as we have already won. This is going to be a friend inviting another to come out of this and becoming free. This is going to be a friend sitting down and asking them what they want in their life…Do you want to be a teacher? Artist? Childcare worker? This is going to be a time where we can work with each individual. This is going to be a time where the ladies do not have to fear anymore and they can more onward and upward.

I am looking forward to us building our safe house for the ladies that do want to come out of this line of work. It is going to be out of the city away from people that know them and their reputation. A place where they can start again and if they wish to, return a new person.

Please pray that we will get a big enough team in to be able to do each job that has to be done.
Please pray that I have the knowledge on what to do when I come face to face with each lady. I know each case will not be the same so I need to really hear from God with each person.

I hope and pray you are all doing well! If you would like to know more or if you have any prayer request please do email me!

Lots of love,
Ruth

My new way of communication...

...I thought this may be the best way that everyone can keep in contact with me and I with everyone. To start, I must say a big Happy New Year to you all and thank you for making this year so fabulous. Not only those of you who donated financially but also to you all for supporting me by prayer and cheering me on!

I would like to let you all know that I am planning on returning back to Pemba, Mozambique in March. So this adventure is to keep going! Praise the Lord! I shall still be doing the same work I was doing before. Admin and helping in the baby house. However I shall also be starting on a new project. Pemba has sadly been getting more and more involved with the sex trade. My new role will be starting up work with the prostitutes on the street in Pemba. We shall be going low and slow with this and hope it may be up and running in about a year or so. This shall all be still working with Iris Ministries.

If anyone would like to find out anymore on Iris Ministries or you would like to donate anything please click on the following link. http://www.irismin.org/

Also here are the following links to all my videos over this past year.

Once again thank you!
